Wie alle alten Kirchen Braunschweigs ist
auch die Martinikirche romanischen Ursprungs (1190-1195) und wurde später zu einer gothischen Hallenkirche umgebaut.

Eine Besonderheit für Braunschweig sind die gleichhohen Türme.

Like other old Brunswickchurches, St. Martini was originally Romanesque (1190-1195), and was later restructured to a Gothic-style hall church.

However, unlike other churches in the city, the steeples here are of the same height.
